Invisalign in Whittier, CA

Are you stuck in a state of confusion where you wish to get your malocclusion treated, but don’t want to get braces as they’re embarrassing? This is a common concern for many of our patients as they feel that braces are too apparent and would ruin the appearance of their smile during the treatment period. Well, we couldn’t agree more. This is why we would like to suggest a whole new way of getting malocclusion treated using ‘near-invisible aligners’.

Yes! Invisalign is a revolutionary orthodontic aligner that is just as effective as a traditional metal braces system. But, unlike metal braces, Invisalign is made from dental-grade plastic material that is absolutely transparent. This makes it almost invisible, which is why it is highly sought-after by patients who prefer an orthodontic aligner that is aesthetically pleasing.

What are the advantages of Invisalign?

  • Invisalign gets rid of the major disadvantage of metal braces, which is the displeasing appearance. The aligner is made from transparent plastic material which makes it very difficult to spot. However, they aren’t absolutely invisible.
  • Invisalign is metal-free. It doesn’t house any sharp corners, edges or brackets that could injure the soft tissues of the mouth.
  • The aligners are removable. You can take them off whenever you have to brush your teeth or eat food. Sometimes, when you have a big day at the office, a presentation at school, or any other prominent day where you wish to take off the aligners, you can do so. However, this luxury can only be utilized rarely as the aligner needs to be worn for 22 hours a day.
  • You wouldn’t have to compromise on the foods you eat, such as when a patient gets dental braces. Just take the braces off, eat and drink anything you like, clean your teeth thoroughly and put the aligners back on.

Procedure

During the initial screening, we would check for the severity of malocclusion and decide whether or not you require Invisalign. If any other treatment method would suffice, it would be suggested. Since Invisalign is backed by a state-of-the-art technology that works under high-precision, highly accurate scans will be taken to determine the positioning of the teeth. Based on this data, the aligners will be fabricated.

You would have to wear the aligners for 22 hours a day, every day, even during sleep. They can only be taken off when you have to eat, drink, and brush. Each aligner will have to be replaced with a new one, once every two weeks. Depending on the severity of the condition, the number of aligners for the entire treatment period would vary between 15 to 40. Make sure to clean them thoroughly every time you take them off.
